Welcome one and all to the wonderful world of OFIT (old farts in technology). There are those of you out there who, like me, have been at this for longer than some of us care to remember and some of us struggle to remember. Either way, you are truly welcome. Now you’re here, what’s this all about!
Do you remember those days, in the distant past, when we actually supported each other, gave each other help, had a good old chinwag, swapped the odd program, sold each other the odd bit of hardware, and even helped each other repair our beloved computers?
Well, I don’t know about you, but I kinda miss all that. The Internet, for all its wonder, has in my opinion forced us apart, made us solitary, pushed us to the edges of loneliness, and what have we been given in return? A homogeneous, stark, generally boring collection of websites that all look the same, all act the same, and have no soul. So, have a look around, see if there’s anything that interests you, and get in touch. You never know, perhaps we still have something in common.
